With the era of the Big 3 seemingly over, Marvel Studios will usher in a new wave of heroes to lead the franchise in the future. However, the most powerful heroes of the Earth after Avengers: Endgame, especially with regard to the very missing Iron Man and its impact on the universe.
The death of Tony Stark occupies a prominent place in the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home, especially when Peter Parker tries to find a place as a superhero. But actor Tom Holland has another idea for someone to fill Iron Man’s shoes in a future movie.
“Her name is Ironheart, Riri,” said Holland to Fandom. “She would be a cool person to wear on the big screen … the multiverse opens so many doors where we can introduce so many cool new characters like Ironheart.”
It remains to be seen whether the Marvel film world will win another armored Avenger, but for the moment Stark’s influence will still be felt. Eric Carroll, producer of Spider-Man: Far From Home, admitted that his presence would continue to play a role in the new film despite the tragic end of Avengers: Endgame.
“His presence is really felt. And [Peter] always makes it clear that this is Tony’s suit, “Carroll told ComicBook during our tour of the set. “Tony and Happy help him in many ways throughout this movie – he’s very present, he’s just not in the movie.”
And while Spidey is challenged to save the world, the new movie will be a breath of fresh air after the Avengers: Endgame events.
“The Avengers movies feel so far removed from what we were doing in Homecoming, and Far From Home, in particular,” said Holland.
“Our films speak of people who are so rooted in reality – very real – and then, when you enter the world of Avengers, it’s a completely opposite show. You have characters from all over the galaxy getting mixed up. And it’s a very different sensation, on the set. Because you have people who are blue and green – there is Iron Man and other stuff, it’s pretty crazy. But it’s a little more discreet … I always describe these films as the greatest independent films ever made. “
Spider-Man: Far From Home premieres in theaters on July 2nd.
